Getting Down To Basics with Resources
Making Your House Dog-Friendly
Start by the floor of your house. Dogs always prefer hard floors which they can sleep on during warm weather to keep them cool. Not only that but you can also use hardwood floors. It is necessary that you don’t spread hair or carpet for them on the floor as this may contain some insects or bacteria that may harm them . Alternatively you can trim the nails of your dog to prevent it from destroying your floor. You will know this by the sound they are producing while moving around.
Apart from that you should also watch out for any poisonous substance in the house and electricity. It is necessary that you make sure that the chemicals or other toxic substances that can harm dogs are kept in a safe place where the dog cannot reach. Apart from that you should also remove the poisonous household plants from the house. As everybody knows that electricity is a very dangerous thing to everyone including the dogs. All the lose cables should be fixed and put in the right place. You should also ensure that the cables are insulated to prevent the dogs from shock when they step on them.
It is also important that you stop stocking white or bright items . The dogs will easily damage this white or bright items. It is therefore important that when you are stocking your furniture make sure you go for the ones with dull colors as this will prevent the dogs from scratching them. Apart from that you should make sure that you put strong things in your house to prevent them from being broken by dogs.
You should also set an area in the house specifically for dogs. This area should be a dog-friendly area where you put the dog things for playing like toys, their bed, mat and many other things. You can as well build them a kennel.
You should keep the kitchen cabinet doors locked so that they cannot eat your food. Another thing is that make sure you dispose of the kitchen wastes correctly especially the bones which dogs can break into pieces, and they can hurt someone. Make sure the trash can contain things that are not interested in the dogs as this will prevent them from spreading the litter.
Another thing that you should do is to clear the table after each and every meal. For one dog will reach out for anything that they can eat. As a result you will run at a loss since the dog will break some of your valuable plates or glasses.
